Therefore, a migration to the cloud and different projects were carried out to develop data ingestion, processing and storage systems in the cloud.

Data is the foundation of Horizm’s business model and it needed to restructure its platform to improve reliability and scalability of the infrastructure. The technologies used by Horizm are PHP (Laravel) and MySQL.
Proposed Solution & Architecture
Migrate the Digital Ocean platform to AWS to get the reliability and scalability they needed.
The Cloud Levante team’s solution consisted of:
- Migration solution of all databases through Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS).
- Migration to Aurora MySQL 8 to take advantage of horizontal autoscaling.
- Development of a model based on microservices especially Serverless to obtain data more efficiently.
- Horizontal scalability of the solution: application layer and data layer.
- Data ingest, processing and storage systems.
- Pipeline to deploy new versions of the application.
The services used were ALB, EC2, Aurora, SQS, Elasticache, CloudFront, EFS and S3.

Restructuring consolidated a flexible platform for variable, fast and highly available workloads. With a reduction in TCO, and improved speed of service to the end user.
The move of the customer’s platform to AWS brought the increased reliability and scalability it required.
